The Benfield Pops is a Symphonic Concert Band that was created in the summer of 2017 for the purpose of continuing music outside of when normal community bands have rehearsals and performances. It has since grown into a musical family that has expanded its performance months at the request of our venues.
Our goal is to provide entertainment for the surrounding community by performing music they are familiar with and can connect to. We also pride ourselves in reaching out and taking our concerts to local senior living facilities so that those who can no longer travel to enjoy live music can still have that live concert experience.
For our musicians the goal is to play music we enjoy, have fun while still working hard and sounding good, to allow students the opportunity to play with professional musicians and also to show that there is life after high school band.
Under the direction of Melissa Zimmerman and Associate Conductor CJ Warren the band has managed to survive through the pandemic and still find ways to send music to our senior friends even when we couldn’t be there in person.
We are always looking for new members and more places to perform. If you would be interested in working with us please reach out and contact us.
